Is it possible to make changes of the itinerary during the tour? Can we include a location that was not initially on the itinerary?
One Excellence Travel offers both set private tours, where the route has been planned and listed on the website, as well as provide consultation for the customer to choose his or her own route. In case you would like to visit specific places, please let us know in advance and we will gladly make the necessary changes to suit your needs.
Can I book a tour and pay for it directly to the guide?
Yes, if the tour you would like to join is less than 3 days away. In this case, please contact us via phone.
What does the price of the tours include?
All our tours include transportation by fully insured car with A/C, licensed English-speaking guide, hotel pick-up and drop-off as well as assistance throughout the tour. Depending on the length of the tour, it could also include accommodation at hotels and breakfast.
How do I book and pay for the tours?
You can either book tours on our webpage or by contacting us via telephone or email. If you book online, you will fill in a form with information about the date, the number of people, the pick-up address, your name and any special requirements that we should be aware of.
After filling in the form, you will be requested to pay a deposit of 40% of the total amount. The payment can be done by card, bank transfer or PayPal. Once the payment is accepted and processed, you will receive a confirmation email from us containing all details about the tour. Please note that it could take up to 24 hours until the confirmation email is sent out. In the event that you did not receive this email within 24 hours, please check your spam or junk or bulk folders and if you still do not have it please call us as soon as possible.
Why is only breakfast included in the longer tours?
We believe that when one travels, a high level of flexibility is essential. By having meals, lunch or dinner, at specific times, we are forced to arrange our entire schedule around these hours. Private tours offer you the opportunity to spend more time than planned at some sights, change the itinerary or go to a restaurant that you find most interesting. Romanian food is very tasty and there are plenty of worthy restaurants from which to choose when you are travelling.
How much do meals cost in Romanian restaurants?
The prices for meals vary throughout the country. An average meal in a restaurant from a city, such as Bucharest, Cluj or Brasov, should be no more than € 12-15 per person, while the prices could be half as much in villages or smaller towns.
Is Romania using the Euro?
No, despite being a member of the European Union, Romania is not in the Eurozone yet. The Romanian currency is the Leu (Lei for plural). There are some hotels or restaurants that might accept payments in Euro or by credit card, but it is best to exchange into our national currency, in order to be able to pay anywhere. There are many banks and exchange offices where you can do this and without paying any exchange fees.
Could you pick me up from the hotel and is this included in the tour?
Yes. Pick-up and drop-off are included in all the tours. Please write down the address where you want to picked up when booking one of our tours.
Are the tours available in other languages?
Our tours are conducted in English but upon request we can provide for other languages.
I can no longer join the tour I booked with you. How can I cancel my booking?
Cancellation of a booking must be made by email as a spoken message is insufficient. We will not treat a booking as cancelled until written notice by email is received by us.
What are the charges if I cancel a booking?
According to the length of the tour booked by you and the time when you cancel, there are varying cancellation conditions and charges effective. Please check our Cancellation Policy for more details.
What happens with the personal information I provide you?
Your privacy is important to us. We are collecting only information that is necessary in order to make the travel arrangements. In order to process your order we may share your information with our suppliers or other involved third party. We will not pass any information on to any company and/or organisation not responsible with providing any part of your travel services.
