Romanian food is very tasty and there are plenty of worthy restaurants from which to choose when you are travelling.
The prices for meals vary throughout the country. An average meal in a restaurant from a city, such as Bucharest, Cluj or Brasov, should be no more than € 12-15 per person, while the prices could be half as much in villages or smaller towns.

There are some hotels or restaurants that might accept payments in Euro or by credit card, but it is best to exchange into our national currency, in order to be able to pay anywhere. There are many banks and exchange offices where you can do this and without paying any exchange fees.
