Day 1 Budapesta – Arad- Timisoara

    Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid), Budapest, Central Hungary

    On your first day meet with your guide and set out for Romania. You'll cross the border at Arad.

    Filarmonica Arad, Arad, Arad County, Western Romania, Transylvania

    The first stop will be in Arad for a short walking tour. Arad is one of the Transylvanian towns with rich culture, that can be observed through it’s architecture. Stroll the city streets to see City Hall Palace , the Palace of Culture , the neo-gothic and secessionist-style Red Church, the large domed Roman Catholic Church and the neo-classical State Theatre. If time allows it you can have lunch at one of the local restaurants.

    Timisoara Historical Center, Timisoara, Timis County, Western Romania, Transylvania

    In the afternoon reach Timisoara. This bustling city has been awarded European Capital of Culture 2019 due to it’s architecture that shows Turkish influence and massive Austro-Hungarian influence.

Day 2 Timisoara – Corvin Castle – Alba Iulia – Sibiu

    After Corvin castle head for Alba-Iulia city. Alba-Iulia has an important cultural role in modern Romania as this is the place where the ancient and medieval history can be observed and also for the fact that this is where our country signed the unification treaty in 1918. Stroll the Old Town section to explore the history of this city.

Day 3 Sibiu - Sighisoara - Maramures

    Set out in the morning for Sighisoara city where Dracula was born and overnight. Take a walking tour inside the old walls of this fairy tale town to find out the history of Dracula and Sighisoara, one of the emblematic city for Transylvanian culture.

Day 4 Maramures Excursion

    After breakfast set out in the morning for your Maramures excursion. Your first stop will be at one of the most important monasteries of the area, Barsana monastery that offers an insight of the local culture with wood carventing skills.

    Muzeul Tarancii Romane, Dragomiresti, Maramures County, Northwest Romania, Transylvania

    Reach Dragomiresti Museum to find out about more about Maramures culture from a local with a visit at traditional house with it’s traditional belongings. Next stop will be at the local whirpool to see how the locals where washing their clothes and rugs. Head for the Wood Carventer, one of the few craftsmen of the area that will offer an idea of how wood carventing is done in Maramures.

    End your day at the Merry Cemetery where your guide will read funny stories of people of Maramures, that have been buried in the cemetery. Built in 1947 this cemetery offers a different perspective on how after life should be approached, by taking it into a more funny way rather than sad way.

Day 5 Maramures – Tihuta pass – Voronet Monastery – Gura Humorului

    Enjoy your warm breakfast and then depart for Bucovina region. On your way will reach Tihuta Pass which offers a great view over Bucovina region. Reach in Gura Humorului and first see the Voronet Monastery. This is one of the most famous monasteries of the area as it was built by the famous ruler of Moldova region known as Stephan the Great. During his period he has manage to build over 300 monasteries most of them situated in the region of Bucovina.

Day 6 Gura humorului – Moldovita Monastery – Sucevita Monastery – Black pottery – Gura Humorului

Day 7 Gura humorului – Bicaz Gorge – Red lake – Brasov

Day 8 Brasov – Bran Castle – Peles Castle – Bucharest

    In the morning you will head for Bran castle aka Dracula’s castle in order to discover this medieval castle. Tour the inside and at the end if you wish you can enjoy free time in the market in front.

    Reach the Peles Palace in Sinaia where you are going to visit the inside of one of the best palaces that Romania can offer. This 19th century palace was built by the first king of Romania. Reach Bucharest in the afternoon. End of service.
